Opencart HELP

Sinrato is theme for Opencart ecommerce platform. Before you start working with theme you should be familiar with Opencart. Please read following links:

Install the demo Quickstart

There are two ways to install an Opencart Theme:

• Install quickstart : By using this package, you will set the theme exactly as our Demo with sample data.

• Install only theme : If you exist a opencart website you can install only theme.

Warning! Before uploading theme files on a production environment, make sure you have tested it before on a development environment. Make sure to create a backup of your original files and database before uploading theme files.

Your website front-end with clear image sizes after the QuickStart installation

To install QuickStart package, please follow these guides below:

1. Create new database:

   • Open your Browser and type : localhost/phpmyadmin or yourdomain/phpmyadmin

   • Then create database

     

2. Extract and Upload the whole quickstart package (admin, catalog, image … in tt_sinrato_quickstart folder ) to your server.

3. Open browser and navigate to your site (where the quickstart uploaded) to load default Opencart installer with the database you just created.

   As an example, name of opencart is tt_sinrato_test.

   

   Click Continue button.

4. We got:

   

   Click Continue.

5. We got:

   

   Click Continue.

6. We got:

   

   You need to delete install folder.

   

7. Click Go to your online shop to go to frontend

   Click Login to your administration to go to backend

8. Login your opencart admin and set domain for each store.

   Go to System -> Settings

   At tab Store Name , choose your store that you want to use, click Edit button.

   Choose tab General

   

   Choose tab Store

   

   Note: You need remove the URL if you want to use that domain for different store.

9. Click Save button when finish.

Install Theme

To install our theme, you need to do 2 steps :

Change theme layout in Opencart

***To install other themes when finish install the first theme, please:

• Go to OC Theme Menu -> Theme Configuration

• Choose tab Theme Database:

  - At Choose Theme Restore : Select homepage you want to install -> Click Import

  

• Refresh your homepage.

Adjust your image sizes

Before you start using your store with the Sinrato theme, image settings must be edited with the following values:

1. Login to your Opencart Admin Area
2. Go to Extensions -> Extensions > Choose the extension type > Themes > Sinrato1 > Edit
3. At Image part, image settings can be edited with the values.
   

   You can set number of products per Category page.

Upload your store logo and icon

To upload your store logo and icon, please do these steps :

1. Open your OpenCart Administration page and go to System -> Settings -> At Sinrato1 (Default) : Choose Edit -> click tab Image :
2. Upload your store logo and icon:
   

   

   - At Store Logo : Upload your logo

   - At Icon : Upload your store icon

3. Click Save to save your changes.

How to add new products

1. Login your opencart admin

2. Go to Catalog -> Products -> Add New

   

3. Now you will see seven tabs (General, Data, Links, Attribute, Option, Discount, Special, Image, Reward Points, and Design). Be sure to fill in the Product Name , Meta Tags Title - required fields - on the first tab.

   

4. Click Save button when finish.

You can add as many products as you would like.

How to set special products

***A special price is a product's sale price. For example a product may have cost $400, but using the specials option in OpenCart you can set the price to $350. Customers can see the "old price - new price" difference.

1. Login your opencart admin

2. Go to Catalog -> Products

3. Search for the product you would like to set on specials. Click Edit link to edit it.

   

4. Choose Special tab and click Add Special button

   

5. Special prices change the value of the product price to the new special price. Specials for a customer group will display the special price only if the customer is logged in as that group.

   

   Customer Group - Optionally select a customer group you want this special to apply to.

   Priority - If you will offer multiple specials and/or discounts, enter 1 for this to be applied first, 2 for this to be applied second.

   Price - The price you want the customer to see.

   Date Start - When you want this special price to appear.

   Date End - When you want this special price to disappear.

6. Click Save button when finish.

How to set discount products

***Discount means that the price of a given product decreases as a customer buys more of it. In other words, a single piece may cost $30, but if you buy five pieces then each would only cost $28. The more a customer buys, the more they save.

1. Login your opencart admin

2. Go to Catalog -> Products

3. Locate the product you want to create the discount for . Click Edit link to edit it.

   

4. Choose Discount tab and click Add Discount button

   

5. We got :

   

   Customer Group - Optionally select a customer group you want this special to apply to.

   Quantity - Set how many pieces a customer needs to purchase in order to get the discounted price.

   Priority - If you will offer multiple specials and/or discounts, enter 1 for this to be applied first, 2 for this to be applied second.

   Price - The price you want the customer to see.

   Date Start - When you want this discount price to appear.

   Date End - When you want this discount price to disappear.

6. Click Save button when finish.

How to set related products

1. Login your opencart admin

2. Go to Catalog -> Products

3. Locate the product you want to add related products to . Click Edit link to edit it.

   

4. Choose Links tab and scroll down until you see the Related Products field

   

5. Start typing a product name in that field and OpenCart will drop down a list of products that start with whatever letters you have typed in.

   

   Important! If the product you are typing is not in your OpenCart products, the drop box will not appear. Make sure you are typing a product that you have in your OpenCart.

6. Click Save button when finish.

How to set manufacturers, model for each product

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to Catalog -> Products -> Choose product you want to add manufacturer

Set layout position of module in OpenCart 3.0

After install various extensions that best suit your needs, you need to set layout position of module. Please see these steps below:

1. Go to Design > Layouts

   

2. Click on Edit button to set the modules position for Home page.

   

3. - Select the Position for layout of module.

   - Select module from Modules option.

   - Click Add Module to add module for each position

4. Click on Save button in the top right corner when you have completed settings of layout

Creating module to choose layout in each theme (Sub module) in Opencart 3.0.x

Example, here we will create a sub module of OC Products. Below is instruction:

• Login admin -> Extensions -> Choose the extension type -> Modules -> OC Products -> Add New button

How to edit Header and Footer

1. To edit Header:

• Please modify this file : \catalog\view\theme\[name_theme]\template\common\header.twig and then edit .
• To edit text on Header : \catalog\language\en-gb\common\header.php and then edit .

Example: Translate title "Store Location at #Sinrato1:

• Go to \catalog\language\en-gb\common\header.php -> Edit & Save this file

  

2. To edit Footer :

• Please modify this file : \catalog\view\theme\[name_theme]\template\common\footer.twig then edit.
• To edit text on Footer : \catalog\language\en-gb\common\footer.php and then edit .

Example: Translate title "Copyright © 2018 PlazaThemes. All Right Reserved." at #Sinrato1:

• Go to \catalog\language\en-gb\common\footer.php -> Edit & Save this file

How to filter products on category page

How to set up and manage products filters in category page :

1. Log into the admin panel of your site. From the top menu select Catalog -> Filters:

   

2. Next, click the Add New button on the right to add the filters. Product Filters are added in the same way as product options. Save the changes by clicking Save at the top right:

   

3. Go to the top menu Catalog -> Products. Click Edit on one of the products, on the manage product screen choose the Links tab and look for the Filters section

   

4. The Filter box is a standard auto complete box. Simply type in a part of the filter name. Add as many filters you wish the product to belong to. Save your changes when finished

5. Go to Catalog -> Categories. Click Edit on the categories which products have filters assigned to. Choose the Data tab and look for the Filters section. Type in a part of the filter name to add the same filters added to your categories. Save your changes when finished:

   

6. When you are done, go to the category page and you will see the new filter box

Config OC Mega Menu

OC Mega Menu module helps to create and display effectively multiple menu types (horizontal, vertical & mobile menu) and various display styles. You can create a huge sitemap-like menu with links to every page.

The Mega Menu extension allows you to:

1. Change Menu Styling: Change style of mega menu
2. Edit any menu item: Click on Configure icon to edit menu types. Drag and drop the menu item to change its position

1. How to config Menu Styling

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to Extensions -> Extensions -> Choose the extension type -> Modules -> OC Mega Menu - Horizontal Mega Menu 1 (sub module of OC Mega Menu in each theme) -> Click Edit button

2. How to edit Menu Items

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to OC Theme Menu -> Advanced Menu then choose menu you want to edit

  

• Select menu item to config

  

  Configure parameters as you want:

  • General Settings tab - This tab contains the general settings for this menu item.

    

    • Item Name - Type name of menu item

    • Status - Set Enabled to show the menu item

    • Item Title - Fill title of this menu item. To hide the menu item title, check the ‘Hide Title’ option. This is useful for displaying social icons in your menu (where only the icon is needed)

    • Link - Fill menu item link. The disable link option will be kept.

    • Sub Menu Type - Select menu type: Mega Menu or Flyout Menu

    • Position - Position of menu item on the menu

    • Item Align - Menu items are aligned to the left of the menu by default. To align a single menu item to the right (e.g. for social icons), set the Item Align option to ‘Right’.

    • Icon - Upload icon for this menu item.

  • Content Editor tab - This configuration is only used for Mega Menu type

    

    • Sub Menu Content Type - Select sub menu content type: Widget Container, Category or Children Items. If you choose Children Items, the menu content will show children items of this menu item

• #Sinrato1: You should cut background images with size 1920 x 630 pixels.

• #Sinrato2: You should cut background images with size 1110 x 520 pixels.

• #Sinrato3: You should cut background images with size 1680 x 630 pixels.

• #Sinrato4: You should cut background images with size 1395 x 520 pixels.

1. Configuration & change images of slide show

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to OC Theme Menu -> Banner Sliders

• At Banner Name , choose edit :

  

  • - #Sinrato1 : Choose edit Home slideshow 1

  • - #Sinrato2 : Choose edit Home slideshow 2

  • - #Sinrato3 : Choose edit Home slideshow 3

  • - #Sinrato4 : Choose edit Home slideshow 4

  Click Banner 1, Banner 2 ... -> You can config slide such as change images, titles, link according to you.

2. Create sub module of OC Slide show

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to OC Theme Menu -> Banner Sliders

  -> Create name and config for this slider.

  -> Click Add Item to add item for this slider and add text, image, choose effect for it.

• Click Save to save this slider

• Go to Extensions -> Extensions -> Choose the extension type -> Modules -> OC Slide show -> Click Edit

  • Name - Input name of sub OC Slide show

  • Status - Set Enabled to show the OC Slide show module.

Config OC CMS Block

1. Edit static blocks

• Please see at images of homepage, products page, detail page to see names of cms block

• To edit a static block, please see in each Homepage image -> Find sub module of each OC CMS Block

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to OC Theme Menu -> CMS Blocks:

  

• At Title, choose Cms Block you want to edit, click Configuration:

  

  Edit title, content, identify, ... of static block. Click Code View (in description table) to show HTML of the static block

  

  -> At here, to change link inside (src="our link") by (src="your link") or (data-original="our link") by (data-original="your link") (if that have line "data-original")

  

  ***One more thing, if you use default opencart 3.0.2.0, it have 1 bug. You can not save code cms block. To correct that error, after you have changed code in "Code View", please click once more time that "Code View" button. Then save.

• Click Save button when finish.

To edit the static block above in Sinrato1, please do like steps below:

• Find part you want to edit, name is : OC CMS Block (Static Top Sinrato1)

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to OC Theme Menu -> CMS Blocks:

• Go to Extensions -> Modules -> OC Featured Category - Featured Category 1 (sub module of OC Featured Category in each theme) -> Choose Edit button

  • Module Name - Input name of sub OC Featured Category.

  • Items - Set number of category will be displayed per row.

  • Rows of Categories - Number of rows will be displayed.

  • Limit - Number of products will be allowed in each tab.

  • Width, Height - Image size will be displayed.

2. How to set featured category & upload home thumbnail image of each category

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to OC Theme Menu -> Featured Categories -> choose category you want to set featured category

  • Is Featured : Choose "Yes" to set featured category.

1. How to config this module

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to Extensions -> Extensions -> Choose the extension type -> Modules -> OC Blog - Blog 2 (sub module of OC Blog in each theme) -> Click Edit

  • Module Name - Input name of sub module of OC Blog.

  • Article List - Choose list of posts you want to show in this sub module.

  • Status - Set Enabled to use this sub module.

  • Article Image Width, Article Image Height - Item size will be displayed.

2. How to config articles

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to OC Theme Menu -> Blog -> Configuration :

3. How to edit articles in Blog

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to OC Theme Menu -> Blog -> Articles -> You will see a table of articles -> At the article you want to edit, choose Edit button

  

  You can edit image for the article, enter contents, enter title

• Click Save button when finish.

4. To create a sub module of OC Blog, follow steps below:

4.1. Create the article

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to OC Theme Menu -> Blog -> Articles -> Add New

  

  You need to fill in article name, Introduction Text, Description, Meta Tag Title and can upload image, write the author,... for the article

• Click Save button when finish.

4.2. Create articles list

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to OC Theme Menu -> Blog -> Articles Lists -> Add New

  

  Configure some parameters as below:

  • Articles List Name - Input name of list.

  • Articles - Choose the names of articles to give in this list.

  • Status - Set Enabled to use this sub module.

• Click Save button when finish.

4.3. Create sub module of OC Blog

• Login your opencart admin -> Extensions -> Extensions -> Choose the extension type -> Modules -> OC Blog -> Add New or click at Blog from Articles List

• We got :

  

  Configure some parameters as below:

  • Module Name - Input name of sub Blog.

  • Article List - Choose list of posts you want to show in this sub module.

  • Status - Set Enabled to use this sub module.

  • Article Image Width, Article Image Height - Item size will be displayed.

• Click Save button to save your changes.

• Back to Modules list :

***This module shows and manage comments, feedback, testimonials from customers in slider.

1. How to config this module

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to Extensions -> Extensions -> Choose the extension type -> Modules -> OC Testimonials - Testimonials 2 -> Choose Edit button

• We got :

  

  Configure some parameters as below:

  • Module Name - Input name of sub OC Testimonials.

  • Status - Set Enabled to use this sub module.

  • Items - Set number of testimonial will be displayed per row.

  • Rows - Number of rows will be displayed.

  • Limit - Number of testimonial will be allowed in slider.

  • Testimonial Image Width, Testimonial Image Height - Image size of each testimonial will be displayed.

2. How to edit testimonials in this theme

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to OC Theme Menu -> Testimonials

• We got :

  -> Choose testimonial you want to edit -> Edit according to you.

3. How to add new testimonial

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to OC Theme Menu -> Testimonials -> Add New

• We got :

  

  Configure some parameters as below:

  • Customer Name - Input name of the testimonial.

  • Content - Enter content of the testimonial.

  • Status - Set Enabled to use this testimonial.

  • Image File - Click at this field to upload avatar of the testimonial.

  • Sort Order - Order of the testimonial

• Click Save to save the testimonial.

Config OC Twitter

How to get API Keys and Tokens for Twitter

In order for you to get the Twitter feed working you need four keys; the Consumer Key, Consumer Secret, Access Token and Access Token Secret. Below are the steps to get those 4 keys.

1. Go to https://apps.twitter.com/app/new and log in, if necessary.

2. Enter your desired Application Name, Description and your website address making sure to enter the full address including the http://. You can leave the callback URL empty.

   

3. Accept the TOS and submit the form by clicking the Create your Twitter Application.

4. After creating your Twitter Application click on the tab that says Keys and Access Tokens, then you have to give access to your Twitter Account to use this Application. To do this, click the Create my Access Token button.

   

5. Lastly copy the Consumer key (API key), Consumer Secret, Access Token and Access Token Secret from the screen into our plugin’s Twitter Options page and test.

   

Config Banner module

1. Configuration

1. Login your opencart admin

2. Go to Extensions -> Modules -> Find name Banner > BrandSlider 2 -> Choose Edit button

3. We got :

   

   Note :

   • Banner - Choose banner you want to show in this module.

   • Width, Height - Image size will be displayed.

2. Edit Brand Logo

1. Login your opencart admin

2. Go to Design -> Banners -> Find name BrandSlider -> Choose Edit button

   

3. Click Save button to save your changes.

3. Create new Banner Logo

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to Extensions -> Modules -> Find name Banners -> Choose Add New button

• Type banner name, then click Add Banner

  

• Type title, link, upload image

  

  You can add many banners.

• Go to Extensions -> Modules -> Find name Banner

• Choose banner you want to show in this module

  

• Click Save button to save your changes.

Config Oc Newsletter

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to Extensions -> Extensions -> Choose the extension type -> Modules -> Oc Newsletter - Newsletter (Newsletter block), Oc Newsletter - Newsletter Popup(Newsletter popup) -> Edit

  • Use Popup - Set Enabled to set sub module as Newsletter popup, set Disabled if you don't want.

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to OC Theme Menu-> Theme Configuration

  

  • Tab Module Configuration : Define whether using rotator image, quickview or catalog mode or not.

    

  • Tab Product Page : Configurable swatches & image zoom options on single product page.

    

  • Tab Category Page : Determines the content elements displayed on the category page.

    

  • Tab Stylesheet CSS : Choose Enabled to use this function

    

  • Tab Theme Database : Using in install theme

    

How to upload rotator image

Example :

When hover :

• Login your opencart admin

• Go to Catalog -> Products -> At Product Name , choose Edit button at the product you want to upload rotator image -> Click tab Image -> Add Image

  

Translation

1. Translate module title name or text in the php file

1. Access url : catalog\language

2. Make a copy of the folder en-gb and rename it to language you want to translate. Example : fr-gb

3. In folder you've made (fr-gb), rename en-gb.php to fr-gb.php

4. You need to translate all files in subfolders (account, checkout,...total) and file fr-gb.php

Example : Translate title "Sign Up For Newsletters" from English into French

1. Access url : catalog\language
